Around 2230 hours Township companies were dispatched to the area of Baltimore Pike and I-476 for a smoke investigation. While enroute, fire board advised that they were getting numerous calls for a reported house on fire about a mile away on Rogers Lane. 65-9B (Moore III) and Ladder 65 (Bailey) with a crew of 4, arrived on scene to find a large 2 story SFD under contraction that was well involved with fire. Engine 51 laid a supply line and the crew from Ladder 65 deployed the blitz fire and a hand line. Assistant Chief Moore established command and advised all units that this was a defensive operation only. 65-2 (Hopkins) arrived with a crew of 5 and picked up engine 51’s line and the crew placed 2 more 2 1/2 lines in service on the delta and charlie sides. The fire was placed under control at the 30 minute mark and crews remained on scene for another hour hitting hot spots. Good job to all units on scene. 65-1, Utility 65, and 65-8 also made the response.
